Scrum can help
Scrum can enable an organization to reduce risk, make better decisions, and deliver more value in less time. The difference between a Scrum team going through the motions or achieving high performance can be made by their Scrum Master. Becoming an effective Scrum Master is a journey that begins, rather than ends, with a two-day certification class.
Beyond the process mechanics
Certification trainings are an introduction to Scrum. However, being a successful Scrum Master is more than knowing and following a process framework! Scrum Masters need to be facilitators, coaches, teachers, mentors, know technical skills, understand business and products, how to lead change, AND be experts in agility. If that’s not enough, many organizations don’t understand the Scrum Master role well and don’t know how to support it.
Agility as Imperative
For organizations and individuals who see increased agility as their path forward, the Scrum Academy: Scrum Master Track from Interaction Agility and ProSearch is a series of workshops for Scrum Masters. The learning materials are pragmatic and proven. All content has been refined from over a decade of experience across sectors and sizes of organization.
Academy participants will form a cohort to grow their skills as facilitators, coaches, and servant leaders. They’ll learn to guide their teams through meaningful change. They’ll choose the most important topics to cover. And they’ll create a community to support and sustain their efforts over time.
A way forward
Organizations must become more adaptive to not just survive, though thrive. An effective Scrum Master enables adaptability and evolutionary improvement at the team level. Team members increase their engagement and satisfaction as they reach higher levels of performance. Their productivity and quality go up, and they deliver more value. They help achieve goals for the organization and its customers.
A two-day workshop. Each run of the Academy will be tailored to the needs of participants. Each session will cover some essential, required topics. Additionally, much of the workshop content will be selected from a pool of topical modules. Each session will create a ranked backlog of the important topics. The backlog’s priority will reflect their learning needs and goals. The backlog of topics will not be locked in. As the cohort learns together their backlog’s contents and ordering will be able to flex. Ensuring that the topic being addressed is the most important is critical!

Workshop Facilitator and Leader
Kevin Callahan, MSPOD is a leader with over 20 years experience creating value and stewarding change toward desired results. He has been a practicing agilist for over a decade in roles including Scrum Development Team member, Scrum Master, and agile coach at all levels of the enterprise.
Kevin has been designing and delivering immersive training sessions for over five years. He has trained hundreds of professionals both the essentials and advanced topics of agile mindsets and practice. Participants report his sessions to be some of the most effective training efforts they have ever done.
He holds a Masters Degree in Positive Organizational Development and Change, along with certificates in Appreciative Inquiry and Emotionally Intelligent Leadership and Coaching from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University.
